Nightly Lab Check Guidelines
Complete each of the following guidelines before signing off a room as checked, in roughly the order below. If you are unable to complete all of the steps, email Brett with the progress that you did make. This should take about twenty minutes per room.
Cleaning checks
- Return tables and chairs to default 5-7-5 configuration
- Clear tables of debris (paper, eraser shavings, etc.)
Wipe down whiteboards and trays with cleaner and paper towels.
- Restock markers (R,G,B).
- Clean up any messes/spills
Equipment checks
When you leave, tables should look the way they were set up on Friday.
- Disconnect and put away BNC, banana and power cables.
- Pasco analog (magnetic field sensor, force sensor, voltage sensor, etc) cables should be plugged in properly to the interface and sensor.
- All other cables (scope probes, motion sensor cables, photogate cables, etc) should be neatly coiled on the lab table.
- Put away any weights or weight hangars, and discard any string
- Return any cabinet items to the cabinet
- Remove and replace any equipment flagged with a trouble card (flagged equipment should go to the hourly prep room)
- Extraneous equipment should be removed and properly stored
- Neatly arrange equipment on the tables, examining for damage as you go and replacing equipment as needed
- Reorganize the extra tables and TA desk. Recycle or trash all waste.
- Check that all needed makeup equipment is present.
Supply checks
- Check the levels of paper, string, tape, staples, and markers. Replenish when low.
