Setup:
- Wrap a sheet of paper around the wood dowel rods and brass tube which are jointed end to end. Note: Make sure that the red and white striped cart is in placed and connected to the utility trench which is connected to the gas infrastructure.
Cautions, Warnings, or Safety Concerns:
- Beware of hot frame.
- Demonstration may require practice.
Demonstration:
Wrap a sheet of paper around the brass tube and the joint between the wooden dowel rods and the brass tube. Place the junction in the flame. The part of the paper wrapped around the wood will be darker than that around the metal because the metal has more rapidly conduction the heat away than the wood.
