Show English and SI units of length, mass, weight, and time.

Setup and Procedure:

1. Set out the above equipment.
2. One can set up the one pound mass on a balance with the equivalent mass in grams on the other side, (ie. 1A10.20).

Cautions, Warnings, or Safety Concerns:

• The 1 Slug weight is heavy.

Discussion:

Discuss the differences of the basic sets of English and SI units of length (feet vs meter), mass (slug vs kilogram), weight (pound vs newton) and time (second). By setting out a clock with a second sweep, meter and yard sticks, kilogram and pound mass, and a balance.
