2 Small Cylinder NdFeB Magnets (~3/16" Dia. x 3/4" L)
Physics 104 qualitative field map boards (small bars in pockets of transparent plastic board above dipole permanent magnets). Disk and bar and bead magnets. Apparatus for Magnetic Field of a Solenoid Helmholtz coil pairs with 200 turns of wire each. Power supply, which will be used as a current supply in this experiment. Banana-plug cables, to connect the power supply and coils. Cell phone with Sensor Kinetics Pro app, Sensor Play, SensorLogger (available for iOS and Android), Physics Toolbox Sensor Suite, PhyPhox or a similar app installed, and a Laptop with MATLAB installed. Mobile phone holder (nonmagnetic) and tripod to hold phone while coil is translated. Apparatus for map of magnetized bead string and other permanent magnets 0.5-1" wooden board with graph paper attached to one side of it. The board thickness prevents saturation of the phone magnetometer. Small magnetized spheres (beads) whose magnetic fields we will be mapping.
