Description:

Setup:

  1. When charging the wound, make sure that both ends are charged.
  2. Make sure that the Stirrup has the same charge as the wound that it will be holding.

Cautions, Warnings, or Safety Concerns:

  1. Demonstration may require practice.
  2. Do not wear wool or a sweater

Demonstration:

  1. Rub clear rod with cat fur. Clear rod charges positive.
  2. Place it in stirrup (which hangs from non-conducting silk thread) as shown.
  3. Rub black rod with cat fur. Black rod charges negative.
  4. Hold black rod near clear rod. The two rods attract.
  5. Rub second clear rod with cat fur.
  6. Second clear rod charges positive.
  7. Bring second clear rod near first clear rod. The two rods repel.
