The Magnets:
The bar of magnets are very strong and came from an very old computer hard drive. We got them for about $20 each from American Science Surplus some 15 years+ ago. They have magnetic field strength of about 4.5 Kilogauss at there surface, about 3.0 Kilogauss one quarter inch away, and 2.5 Kilogauss in the other side of the copper blade, about 3/8 of an inch for the surface. The average magnetic field strength within the 1/4 inch think copper blade is about 2.75 Kilogauss.
