Topic and Concept:

pira200 Listed

Location:

Abstract:

The air puck is a small battery powered (4AA) hovercraft that floats on a cushion of air produced by an internal fan. Each unit has soft foam bumpers for inelastic collisions.

Air Puck 2

ME, Bay A5, Shelf #6

Important Setup Notes:

  • N/A

Setup and Procedure:

  1. Flip the power switches located on the bottom of the pucks to the on position and place the units on a table or the floor.
  2. "AA" Batteries are stored in refrigerator.

Cautions, Warnings, or Safety Concerns:

  • N/A

Discussion:

Use the two air pucks to model inelastic collisions between equal masses at zero friction.
