Air Pucks, 1N40.25
Topic and Concept:
- Linear Momentum, [:Linear_Momentum#Collisions2D: 1N40. Collisions in Two Dimensions]
Location:
Cabinet: [:MechanicsCabinet:Mechanic (ME)]
Bay: [:MechanicsCabinetBayA5:(A5)]
Shelf: #6
attachment:airpucks-1.jpg
Abstract:
The air puck is a small battery powered (4AA) hovercraft that floats on a cushion of air produced by an internal fan. Each unit has soft foam bumpers for inelastic collisions.

Setup and Procedure:
- Flip the power switches located on the bottom of the pucks to the on position and place the units on a table or the floor.
- "AA" Batteries are stored in refrigerator.
Cautions, Warnings, or Safety Concerns:
- N/A
Discussion:
Use the two air pucks to model inelastic collisions between equal masses at zero friction.
